For quite a while, I have been using the Terminal to output trace statements while I’m viewing Flash content in the browser. It works great, but you need to follow a few steps to set it up. After I got my new laptop, I needed to enable the Terminal to do this and I searched the web for instructions since I had forgotten how to do it. I did find what I was looking for, but I also found a pretty neat application for OS X called FlashTracerX that does exactly what I wanted.

I just finished playing Machinarium, a point-and-click adventure designed and developed by Amanita Design. Winner of the prize for Excellence in Visual Art at this year’s Independent Game Festival, Machinarium is one of the most amazing games I ever played.

InteractivePNG class by Moses Gunesch
This is a very useful utility class that allows you to ignore transparent pixels on rollover. Not only that, it also lets you set an alpha tolerance level so you can have complete control over how much transparency is needed to register a hit. It’s pretty cool, check it out!
